Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB), which rose 5.09% or 4.84 points to trade at 99.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) added 5.08% or 0.51 points to end at 10.54 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) was up 4.38% or 10.78 points to 257.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which fell 4.88% or 9.31 points to trade at 181.55 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) declined 3.39% or 0.59 points to end at 16.81 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) was down 3.20% or 6.56 points to 198.17.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 125 to 113 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.08% or 25.25 to $2,372.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.77% or 0.62 to hit $81.33 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.79% or 0.67 to trade at $85.74 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.11% to 18.39, while EUR/MXN fell 0.61% to 19.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 105.30.
