Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Food & Beverages and Financial Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Software and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.57%, while the MDAX index gained 0.23%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG), which rose 4.18% or 4.04 points to trade at 100.66 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) added 4.01% or 6.95 points to end at 180.15 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was up 3.07% or 1.26 points to 42.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which fell 3.10% or 3.40 points to trade at 106.15 at the close. Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) declined 2.21% or 1.05 points to end at 46.55 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was down 1.84% or 7.20 points to 384.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which rose 3.13% to 33.91, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was up 3.10% to settle at 5.78 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 2.62% to close at 42.28.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.62% to 24.21 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which lost 3.26% to settle at 131.95 and Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which was down 2.71% to 27.28 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 2.14% to 23.90, Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which was up 1.16% to settle at 27.96 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 0.86% to close at 23.59.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 5.34% to 21.09 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 4.81% to settle at 106.80 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.62% to 24.21 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 345 to 329 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.71% or 0.76 to 27.28.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.91% to 30.97.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.34% or 5.85 to $1,725.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 7.69% or 8.00 to hit $96.09 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 6.83% or 7.31 to trade at $99.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 107.84.
