On the way up this thing marched up nearly every day, it was perpetually overbought, and none of the experts were saying sell. Now all of the experts say buy, buy, buy. It is oversold. Fibonaccis say so. Yada yada yada. They think you can game it on the way down even though just buying and holding worked beautifully on the way up. The experts thing you can catch all of dead cat bounces up, ride it up to a new all time high, and then repositioning at the top to ride it down again. Yeah, like that is even possible in Fantasyland. What a laugh and a half!

Bob Davids II Yeah, it’s called trading. I get it. But all I used to hear was the trend is your friend. In my experience, you can’t predict the short term most of the time. And I just keep seeing all these people saying buy now. But they are all wrong. This thing just keep going down with little dead cat bounces all the time. It’s a falling knife. And worse fundsmentals are collapsing and valuations are nuts. It is obvious to me, I dunno. But it is. And one of these dsys the bottom is going to fall out, and we’ll have a minus ten percent day or a few or a bunch of them.

People can't afford to fly anymore. Hence, how are they going to be a boon to Japan's tourism that benefited so greatly from the weak yen? If they can't get on an airplane to go to Japan, how are they going to spend in Japan? Heck, they are pulling back on everything, including goods exported out of Japan. The Japanese auto industry is already flagging big, now add to that tourism and discretionary stuff exported, like video games and other consumer electronics out of Japan. This bubble is doomed. Watch the US cut rates in the not too distant future, and dollar/yen drop like a rock. Smart people are selling Japanese stocks now, before everyone rushes for the exits. This will be under 30k relatively soon. Not today or tomorrow. Not even next week or next month. But soon. Very soon.

A lot are looking at Fibonacci levels, but I would say anyone big who wants to sell is hoping buyers step up. Countless firms still have lots to unload, I believe. I think a lot of buyers stepping up could ultimately be fleeced. And if they use tight stops, they will all get triggered before yet another dead cat bounce. Put another way, this market has a lot of crosscurrents. Hence, it is a dangerous game now to go long, even if it is for a bounce. Some are saying we are going to see new highs. I will be flabbergasted if that happens. That said, it will do nothing to my game plan, and would prompt me to load up yet again and take an even bigger position on a reverse ETF.

Almost every day now experts say buy and they have all kinds of reasons. But this thing just keeps tanking. You may be right, but I'm not holding my breath. I imagine even if there is some rally one of these days, it will simply be reversed in the short term, and then the drop will continue. There is nothing good on the horizon. The long term valuation numbers still show this as a massive bubble. Despite all the media attention, the drop to date has barely moved the needle.
