Investment Strategy

The Fund invests primarily in high-yielding, income producing debt securities, such as debentures and notes, loan participations, and in convertible and non-convertible preferred stocks. Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests a least 80% of its net assets in high-yield bonds and related investments. The Fund considers securities rated BB or lower by Standard & Poor’s or Fitch or Ba or lower by Moody’s (and comparable unrated securities) to be high-yield securities.

Biography	Linda Carter is a vice president of Eaton Vance Management and portfolio manager on Eaton Vance's high-yield team. Prior to joining Eaton Vance in 1998, Linda was a portfolio manager at John Hancock Investment Advisers. Previously, she served as a senior investment officer at Allmerica Financial. In 1983, she began her investment career as an investment analyst with United Business Services. Linda earned a B.S. in business administration from the University of Massachusetts and an M.S. from Boston College. She is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society and the CFA Institute.

Biography	Mike is a Vice President of Eaton Vance Management and Director of High Yield Investments. In addition, he is a Portfolio Manager of the firm’s high yield strategies. Mike’s experience in the investment management industry dates back to 1987. Prior to joining Eaton Vance in 1990, Mike was a Vice President of Amroc Investments, L.P. Previous to that, Mike was employed at Cowen & Company as an analyst specializing in distressed debt securities. He received a B.S. from the State University of New York at Albany. He earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
