The Fund invests primarily in high quality debt securities with short and intermediate maturities, such as corporate bonds and notes, mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities, U.S. Treasury and government agency obligations, securities of foreign issuers (such as Yankee bonds) and repurchase agreements. Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in high quality bonds and related investments.

Biography | PETER S. KAPLAN, CFA, SVP, is Portfolio Manager. Peter joined Merganser in 1986 and is the team leader for the asset backed securities (ABS) sector. He is a portfolio manager for our shorter duration strategies and also serves as the co-team leader for our Cash Enhancement product. Prior to joining Merganser, Peter worked for SEI Corporation and managed the design, development and implementation of investment accounting systems. Prior to SEI Corporation, Peter worked at Interactive Data Corporation, where he developed investment applications for institutional investment managers. Peter holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society. Biography | Doug joined theMerganser in 1986 and is Merganser’s President. In addition to his responsibilities managing the firm, he also serves as the Co-Chief Investment Officer with Andy Smock, providing leadership to the investment team. Before assuming his current duties, Doug served the firm as Chief Investment Officer, product leader for our shorter duration strategies, and as ABS sector team leader. Before joining Merganser, Mr. Kelly’s experience included positions with American Can and Exxon Corporation. At American Can, Mr. Kelly’s primary role was Director, Pension Investments where he had responsibility for determining investment objectives, setting asset mix guidelines, reviewing actuarial assumptions and monitoring and controlling the investment program to ensure achievement of objectives. Mr. Kelly holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society. He has previously served as a member of the Investment Issues Committee of the Association of Private Pension and Welfare Plans and was a member of Pension Group East.
