Investment Strategy

The investment seeks to provide current income and, as a secondary objective, capital appreciation. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in bonds. Bonds include securities issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government or its agencies or instrumentalities; asset-backed securities and mortgage-backed securities (securitized products, including collateralized mortgage obligations); and corporate bonds.
