The Fund seeks to maximise the return for its unit-holders. East Capital’s investment philosophy is based on a long-term perspective of development, fundamental analysis and active stock-picking, combining growth with value. The East Capital Balkan Fund primarily invests in companies in Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Turkey and Slovenia. The Fund can invest in listed and unlisted securities and money market instruments, derivatives, fund units and accounts with credit institutions. It uses derivatives to make the management more efficient. The Fund’s strategy is to enter the markets at an early stage and buy shares in companies with low valuations and in rapidly growing sectors. A large part of the portfolio is made up of large companies in the region, but the Fund also seeks exposure to smaller companies. The Fund invest at least 75% of assets in shares and equity-related instruments, and up to 10% of assets in any one issuer, and the majority of holdings make up under 5%.
