The investment seeks to provide shareholders with long-term capital growth. Under normal market conditions, at least 80% of the fund's net assets (including the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes) are invested in equity securities of companies with market capitalizations greater than $5 billion at the time of purchase or that are within the market capitalization range of companies in the S&P 500 Index (the index) at the time of purchase. It may invest in derivatives, such as futures (including equity futures and index futures) for cash equitization purposes.

Biography | Brian Condon is the head of quantitative strategies for Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Biography | Dr. Bertsimas is a founding partner of Alpha Dynamics and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s business activities. He is the Boeing Professor and co-director of the Operations Research Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he has been a member of the faculty since 1988. Formerly a Senior Portfolio manager and the head of quantitative investments at RiverSource Investments where he was responsible for managing $12 billion in mutual funds, separate accounts, and hedge funds. In 1998 Dr. Bertsimas co-founded Dynamic Ideas LLC whose assets were sold to American Express in 2002. He has over 20 years of investment management experience and has served as a consultant to well-known investment managers. He has received numerous research awards and he is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Bertsimas has written over 130 papers in optimization, data mining, applied probability and quantitative finance and he has written 3 textbooks that are used in over 40 universities around the world. Dr. Bertsimas has a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Operations Research from MIT. He holds the Series 7 and 63. |
