I am to be losing a lot of money to this lately but I'm not hearing a lot about it.

when the interest rate go up, bond price go down, but it's important to keep bonds in your portfolio to give it balance, when the market crash bonds will hold you from following, keep 10% to 25% of your portfolio in BND.
