Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR:ELI), which rose 1.54% or 1.35 points to trade at 88.80 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 1.36% or 1.90 points to end at 141.65 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 1.30% or 0.86 points to 67.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which fell 1.45% or 1.24 points to trade at 84.17 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 1.39% or 0.20 points to end at 14.14 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was down 0.54% or 0.14 points to 25.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 48 to 45 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; up 1.36% or 1.90 to 141.65.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.14% or 3.30 to $2,366.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.07% or 0.06 to hit $83.94 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.16 to trade at $87.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 104.82.
