Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 1.99% or 0.48 points to trade at 24.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) added 1.89% or 0.62 points to end at 33.49 and Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) was up 1.48% or 0.11 points to 7.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which fell 2.07% or 0.29 points to trade at 13.74 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.25% or 5.10 points to end at 403.50 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB) was up 0.08% or 0.05 points to 66.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 55 to 40 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.10% or 2.35 to $2,337.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.75% or 1.43 to hit $82.97 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 1.39 to trade at $86.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 105.60.
