Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 3.43% or 0.48 points to trade at 14.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Ageas (EBR:AGES) added 1.64% or 0.70 points to end at 43.36 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.17% or 0.28 points to 24.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aedifica (EBR:AOO), which fell 2.18% or 1.25 points to trade at 56.00 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 1.73% or 1.00 points to end at 56.95 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) was down 1.49% or 0.38 points to 25.14.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 29 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.90 to $2,345.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.12% or 0.10 to hit $80.61 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.10 to trade at $85.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.82.
