Investment Strategy

The investment seeks current income that is exempt from regular federal income tax. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in tax-exempt bonds, a type of municipal security, the interest on which, in the opinion of the issuer's bond counsel at the time of issuance, is exempt from federal income tax, including federal alternative minimum tax ("AMT"). It may invest up to 20% of its assets in private activity bonds. Private activity bonds are tax-exempt bonds whose proceeds are used to finance private, for-profit organizations.
