Investment Strategy

The Southern Charter BCI Balanced Fund of Funds aims to provide investors with capital growth of 5% above inflation over the longer term by investing in a combination of asset classes including local and international equities, fixed interest, property and cash. As the Fund has a medium allocation growth assets, it is ideal for investors with a medium investment horizon, who seek capital growth and who are at least 5 - 10 years from retirement. Biography	Mark Thompson is the strategic thinker, scenario planner, and founder of Southern Charter and the driver behind Southern Charter’s risk-profiled life cycle investment strategy. He is also the creator of the three award-winning funds: Growth, Balanced and Defensive fund. Educated at UCT and articled to Arthur Young, Mark has been managing and safeguarding his clients’ investments successfully since before the October 1987 crash.
