Investment Strategy

The fund’s objective is to provide a high level of total return by investing primarily in high-yield fixed-income securities issued primarily by United States corporations. To achieve the fund’s objective, the fund: • will invest primarily in a diversified portfolio of non-investment grade rated debt instruments issued by corporations primarily located in the United States;• will invest primarily in high yield securities with a credit rating below BBB; • may invest in non-investment grade rated debt instruments of issuers in major industrialized nations apart from the United States, although the primary focus for the portfolio, as indicated above in the fund’s investment objective and its investment strategy, is on corporations primarily located in the United States.
