The investment seeks as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, the total return of the Bloomberg US Aggregate Bond Index that measures the performance of the broad U.S. investment-grade bond market. The index is a broad-based benchmark measuring the performance of the U.S. investment grade, taxable bond market, including U.S. Treasuries, government-related and corporate bonds, mortgage pass-through securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, and asset-backed securities that are publicly available for sale in the United States. The fund will invest at least 90% of its net assets in securities included in the index.

Biography | Mark McKissick is a Senior Portfolio Manager for Schwab Asset Management. He is responsible for the day-to-day co-management of the Schwab Taxable Bond Mutual Funds and the Schwab Fixed-Income ETFs. Prior to joining Schwab in 2016, Mr. McKissick worked at Denver Investments for 17 years, most recently as a director of fixed income and portfolio manager. In this role he co-managed multiple bond strategies, as well as oversaw the firm’s fixed income business including the investment process, client service, and other administrative functions. He also served as a credit/security analyst from 1999 to 2005. Prior to that, he worked as a senior research analyst with Hotchkis & Wiley, a portfolio manager at Payden & Rygel, and a vice president in fixed income at Salomon Brothers. Mr. McKissick earned a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in finance and international business from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Oklahoma State University. Biography | Matt Hastings is a Managing Director and Head of Bond Index Strategies for Schwab Asset Management. He also has overall responsibility for all aspects of the management of the funds. Prior to joining Schwab in 1999, Mr. Hastings was in fixed income sales and trading at Lehman Brothers. He has worked in the fixed income securities industry since 1996. Mr. Hastings earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of San Diego. He is a CFA® charterholder and is a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco and the CFA Institute. |
