Investment Strategy

The Scheme’s investment objective is to achieve capital growth over the medium-to-long term, which should be considered as a period of 5–7 years, by predominantly investing in the shares of European companies listed on European stock exchanges (including Turkey, but excluding the UK). At least 80% of the Scheme will be invested in the shares of European companies, not including the UK, but including Turkey. European companies are those domiciled or listed in Europe, or which have significant European business operations.

Biography Cédric de Fonclare joined Jupiter in 1999 and has managed the Jupiter European Special Situations Fund (Unit Trust) since July 2005. Before joining Jupiter, Alexander trained as an investment analyst with de Zoete & Bevan (BZW) before moving in 1987 to Enskilda Securities in Paris, where he became head of French equity research. He joined Goldman Sachs in London in 1992, where he worked as a French equity analyst. Alexander has a degree in History from Cambridge University.

Biography Paul Fairbrother, ASIP, is an investment officer and institutional equity portfolio manager at MFS Investment Management® (MFS®). In this role, he participates in the research process and strategy discussions, assesses portfolio risk, customizes portfolios to client objectives and guidelines, and manages daily cash flows. He is also responsible for communicating investment policy, strategy and positioning. He is based in London. Paul joined MFS in 2019 in his current role after five years at Sarasin & Partners as a business partner and client account director. Prior to that, he served as a European equity portfolio manager, European equity analyst and UK equity portfolio manager for UBS Asset Management over the course of his 21‐year tenure there. He began his career in the financial services industry in 1993. Paul earned a bachelor's degree in business economics from the University of Reading. He is a member of the CFA Institute and an Associate of the CFA Society of the UK (ASIP).
