Investment Strategy

The investment seeks to maximize total return (capital appreciation and income) consistent with reasonable risk. The fund will seek capital appreciation and current income in the advisor's attempt to maximize total return. It will invest, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets in bonds and other fixed-income securities. The fund primarily invests in investment grade domestic debt obligations. The fund's dollar-weighted average maturity, under normal circumstances, will range between three and fifteen years.

Dan is responsible for the interest rate strategy for active long duration fixed income, and is also lead portfolio manager for $15 billion passive global interest rate and $11 billion in domestic inflation products and ETF's. Prior to joining Northern Trust as an Accounting Auditor in 1996, he served in the shareholder service department at Kemper Mutual Funds. Mr. Azar joined Northern Trust in 2004. He began his career in 1991 with Harris Bank. Fred received a B.S. degree in Accounting and Business Administration and an M.B.A. from the University of Kansas.
