Investment Strategy

The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 65% of its net assets in equity securities of small and mid-sized companies. Small and mid-sized companies are defined as companies having a market capitalization at the time of purchase that falls within the market capitalization range of companies in the Russell 2500™ Index. It seeks to invest in securities of companies that the portfolio management team believes are undervalued by the market and are selling at reasonable prices in relation to the portfolio management team's assessment of their potential or intrinsic value.

Prior to joining Pzena in 2004, Mr. Rabinowich was an Equity Research Associate with the Semiconductor group at Investec. Prior to Investec, he founded Mabool, a technology company which provided auction services. He began his career as a Senior Consultant in the Life Sciences and Energy Group at Booz Allen Hamilton. He earned a B.S. summa cum laude from the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. At Columbia Mr. Rabinowich was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society.

Mr. Maurer joined Lord Abbett in 2001 as a research analyst for the small cap value equity strategy and was named Partner in 2009. His prior experience includes: Director, US Fundamental Equity Research at Merrill Lynch; Vice President, Equity Research at McDonald Investments; and Assistant Vice President and Financial Analyst at Key Corporation. Mr. Maurer received a BA from Baldwin-Wallace College and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. He has been in the investment business since 1991.

His prior experience includes: Senior Equity Analyst at Invesco; Senior Analyst at Centurion Investment Group, L.P.; Vice President-Investment Research at Lynch & Mayer, Inc.; and Associate at Aiyer Investments. Mr. Maher received a BS from Georgetown University and an MBA from New York University. He has been in the investment business since 1989.

Biography Mr. Fetch is the lead portfolio manager of the multi, large, and mid cap value equity strategies and oversees the domestic equity portfolio managers. Mr. Fetch joined Lord Abbett in 1995 as the lead portfolio manager of the small cap value equity strategy portfolio and Director of Small, Smid, Multi and Micro Value Equities. He was named Partner in 1998. His prior experience includes: Managing Director at Prudential Investment Advisors; Senior Investment Officer at Chemical Bank/Favia Hill & Associates; and Equity Analyst/Trader at Mutual Benefit Life. Mr. Fetch received a BS from Bucknell University and an MBA from Seton Hall University. He is a holder of a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has been in the investment business since 1977.

Biography Steven G. McBoyle joined the firm in 2007. Previously, he was a Partner at Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC (2001-2007) where he was a Portfolio Manager of the Small Cap Value Fund and Small-Mid Value Fund. Prior to that he was Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions at Morgan Stanley (2000-2001) and an Associate of Mergers & Acquisitions at Salomon Brothers (1997-2000). He began his career in public accounting within the Accounting & Audit Services Group of Deloitte & Touche (1990-1995). Mr. McBoyle holds a bachelor's degree from the School of Accountancy at the University of Waterloo, Canada and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. He is also a Chartered Accountant with a degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Canada and a Certified Public Accountant.
