Investment Strategy

The Fund aims to deliver capital growth over the long term (5 years or more) through investment in sustainable securities. The Fund will invest in companies globally and will seek to achieve the investment objective through investment in securities that provide or produce sustainable products and services as well as having a progressive approach to the management of environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) issues. The Fund will typically invest 95% (minimum 90%) in equities or equity related derivatives, but may also invest in collective investment schemes (up to 10% of Fund assets), corporate debt securities, other transferable securities, money market instruments, warrants, cash and deposits.

In his early career, Simon worked as a Portfolio Accountant and Risk and Performance Analyst before joining Aviva Investors in 2000 to help develop its global equity and SRI propositions. Simon is the lead manager of the Liontrust SF Global Growth Fund, GF SF Global Growth and SF Managed Growth Fund, and co-fund manager on the SF Managed, SF Cautious Managed and SF Defensive Managed funds. Simon holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Newcastle, Australia and a graduate diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from Securities Institute of Australia. Simon is a CFA Charterholder.

Biography Peter Michaelis joined Liontrust in April 2017 following the acquisition of Alliance Trust Investments, where he was Head of Investment. Peter has been managing money in Sustainable and Responsible Investment for over 20 years. After completing a PhD in Environmental Economics, Peter started his career working for the Steel Construction Institute as an Environmental Engineer. He then moved to Henderson Global Investors where he was able to use his experience as a Sustainable and Responsible Investment Analyst and Assistant Portfolio Manager. In 2001 he moved to Aviva Investors, where he was promoted to lead Portfolio Manager on a number of its Sustainable and Responsible Investment funds, before being made Head of Sustainable and Responsible Investment. Peter holds an MA in Physics from Oxford University, an MSc in Energy and Environmental Engineering from the University of Sussex and a PhD in Environmental Economics from the University of Surrey. In addition, he has the CFA Society of the UK Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Previously, Mike was head of technology at Electronic Ink, Europe. Prior to that, he was an investment analyst at TASS Management. Mike started his career on Lehman Brothers’ trading desk in London.
