The Sub-Fund seeks to offer investors capital growth through diversification of its investments over all categories of assets. To pursue its goal, it invests at least two-thirds of its net assets in equities, Equity-linked Instruments and bonds without any restriction in terms of market capitalisation, geographical diversification (including emerging markets), or in terms of what part of the assets of the Sub-Fund may be invested in a particular class of assets or a particular market.

Prior to joining First Eagle in January 2009, Kimball was chief investment officer of Corsair Capital, a multi-billion-dollar private equity firm spun off from J.P. Morgan. Kimball began at Corsair in 1994, when he joined J.P. Morgan as an associate in the investment banking department’s private equity group. Biography | Matthew McLennan is co-head of the Global Value team and a portfolio manager of the Global Value, Global Equity, International Value, International Equity and US Value strategies. Prior to joining First Eagle in September 2008, Matt worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London, where he served as co-portfolio manager of Global Equity Partners, a group he co-founded in 2003 that ran a focused global equity portfolio for offshore private wealth clients. Earlier in his career, Matt was equity chief investment officer of the investment strategy group for Goldman Sachs’ private client business. He joined Goldman Sachs in Sydney in 1994. Matt started his career in 1991 in Brisbane, Australia, with the Queensland Investment Corporation and was ultimately responsible for the firm’s international equity exposure. He was born in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea, and grew up in Queensland, Australia. He received his bachelor of commerce with first-class honors and master of international commercial law from the University of Queensland, and he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Matt is interested in the field of education, and he is a trustee (and former president of the Board of Trustees) of the Trinity School in New York City. He serves on the Board of Dean’s Advisors of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and as a board member of the University of Queensland in the United States of America. Biography | Abhay Deshpande founded Centerstone Investors and serves as the Chief Investment Officer. He has many years of experience researching and investing in businesses globally. Prior to establishing Centerstone, Mr. Deshpande was a Portfolio Manager at First Eagle Investment Management, advisor to the Global and Overseas strategies that comprised the vast majority of the firm’s billions in assets under management. During his 15-year tenure, his responsibilities included hiring and training analysts along with leading the research team during times of market turbulence. He spearheaded the research efforts during both the 2001 technology and 2008 credit crises, and in both cases his direct efforts helped clients minimize losses, and ultimately thrive, during his career at First Eagle. Previously, Mr. Deshpande was a Research Analyst with Harris Associates and International and Global products. He also was an Analyst for Morningstar responsible for following a variety of International mutual funds. He began his career at a boutique investment advisor in Louisville, KY. Mr. Deshpande holds a BS in Finance from the University of Louisville. He is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. | ||

Biography | Jean-Marie Eveillard is Senior Adviser to the First Eagle Investment Management, LLC Global Value and International Value strategies. He started his career in 1962 with Société Générale before relocating to the United States in 1968. Two years later, Jean-Marie began as an analyst with the SoGen International Fund. In 1979, he was appointed Portfolio Manager of the SoGen International Fund, later named the First Eagle Global Fund. From 1993–2004, Jean-Marie was the Lead Portfolio Manager for all of ASB’s Global Value strategies. He left these duties on December 31, 2004 but continued to serve as a Senior Adviser to the Global Value team, and returned as Lead Portfolio Manager and head of the team in 2007 and part of 2008, until Matt McLennan became head of the team in September 2008. Jean-Marie became a Senior Adviser to the Global Value team in March 2009. Jean-Marie was named Morningstar’s International Manager of the Year in 2001, and in 2003 received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Morningstar for building one of the most successful long-term records in the investment business. Born in Poitiers, France in 1940, he is a graduate of Écoles des Hautes Études Commerciales, a French graduate school for economic studies. | ||

Biography | Charles de Vaulx joined the International Value Advisers, LLC in 2008 as a partner and portfolio manager. Mr. de Vaulx also serves as Chief Investment Officer of the International Value Advisers, LLC. Mr. de Vaulx, along with Charles de Lardemelle, is responsible for the day-to-day portfolio management of both Funds. Mr. de Vaulx has managed both Funds since their inception. Until 2007, Mr. de Vaulx was portfolio manager of the First Eagle Global, Overseas, U.S. Value, Gold and Variable Funds, together with a number of separately managed institutional accounts. From 2000 to 2004, he was co-portfolio manager of the First Eagle Funds. Mr. de Vaulx was named associate portfolio manager of the First Eagle Funds in 1996. In 1987, he joined the SoGen Funds, the predecessor to the First Eagle Funds, as a securities analyst. Mr. de Vaulx began his career at Societe Generale Bank as a credit analyst in 1985. |
