The Chicago Purchasing Managers' Indexes (PMI) are economic indicators derived from monthly surveys of manufacturing and non-manufacturing activity by private sector companies in the Chicago region.
This release deals with the New Orders sub-index.
A reading that is stronger than forecast is generally supportive (bullish) for the USD, while a weaker than forecast reading is generally negative (bearish) for the USD.
