Buffet didn't buy gold on Friday it was a mandatory disclose within 45 days.. Which sums to buying between March 31 - June 01. So this article came on the 44th day shows how the bearish momentum is being manipulated to bullish.

Despite official reassurements, the labor market situation is horrible. participation rate at 50 year low or 61.4%, over 100 mill people ' not in labor force'. the real jobless rate is at 39%!!!! Can you have a strong economy, when nearly half the population is thrown in the garbage ton?

How could the dollar maintain its strength and build up at the same time a giant debt bubble? The answer is the dollar carry trade. European and Asian banks bought US debt by taking out cheap loans from their own Central banks, cashing in on the yield spread between dollar bonds and Asian and European bonds. However, this has stopped now as the spread goes to zero and the Fed has to buy US bonds ( monetize) releasing trillions of cash dollars. The Fed has monetized already 3 trillion this year and another 3 trillions are coming this year. This is the difference between now and then.

Goat! Interesting! The trouble with me is everyone is shorting the dollar and buying gold because it makes sense and that makes it a crowded trade. I hear it everyday, that makes me nervious. AAPL is a crowded trade but I couldnt buy it now starting cost basis at 460, probably goes to 500, but you cant argue that maybe all the birds are flying the right way. How would you put on this trade. Buying calls and puts, using a hedge lije OTM puts on gold and calls on your dollar positions? Soeaking from a retail investors spective, thanks

Hi Joe, Are you saying the pros are selling the dollar ( because it going down) and the retail investor is buying it ( thinking its going up?) Or do you mean the pros are selling it short?

Descending wedge formed within the descending channel. Wedge completes possibly by end of today. Expecting big movement at some point before that. Past few days have been uppies during the day, downies during the night. This is downies all day. Bearish.

It is likely to lead to an avalanche in the dollar once this method of strengthening the dollar fails.

They have the inverse behavior in the long term but don’t expect a single days action to lead to a 1 for 1 trade with the other. Over the long term yes, but just today, not really

Most importantly, just don’t expect the dollar to rise in value for any reason. It’s headed down so in my opinion, just use it’s move to help with deciding when precious metals “might” rally.
