The investment objective of the Fund is to achieve capital growth and generate an income through diversified investment in equities of Asia-Pacific Companies (excluding the equities of Japanese Companies). Investments may be made in ordinary shares (including ADRs, EDRs and GDRs), preferred shares and up to 25 per cent. of the total assets of the Fund may be invested in Convertible Debt Securities. The Investment Manager will not concentrate investments in any one Asia-Pacific country or in any one industrial or economic sector. The Fund may utilise any of the financial derivative instruments described in the section entitled “Investment Techniques and Instruments” for efficient portfolio management purposes.

Biography | Alan is our Asian specialist and advisor; he graduated from Oxford in 1974 and joined Jardine Fleming in Hong Kong. During the next eleven years, Alan launched and managed a range of specialist Asian funds both for Jardine Fleming and Save & Prosper, part of the Fleming Group. In 1986 he joined Robert Fleming Securities as a founding member of their Asian broking business. He moved to South China Securities in 1997 as Managing Director and joined the company in September 2005 specialising in Asian portfolios and funds. He is a member of the Asset Allocation Committee. |
