The objective of the portfolio is to provide investors with long term capital growth and to provide a limited measure of capital and income protection.The portfolio will be actively managed with exposure to various asset classes such as cash, bonds, equities and property, both domestically and internationally, being varied to reflect changing economic and market circumstances, in order to maximise returns for the investors. From time to time derivatives may be considered, but the manager will adhere to prevailing derivatives regulations when doing so. The portfolio shall adhere to the Multi Asset : High Equity classification requirements as set out in the Asisa Standard on Fund Classifications for South African Collective Investment Scheme Portfolios. The maximum effective equity exposure is currently limited to 75%.

Biography | Mohamed Mayet is MD and Co Founder at Sentio Capital Management, a specialist investment manager. Mohamed has been in equity investment markets for 12 years, working at various global investment banks. Before cofounding Sentio, he was a Director at Merrill Lynch South Africa and headed the local research team. As Head of the investment research team he reported to the Head of Research in the UK, with various responsibilities including the coordination of equities research as well as the establishment of model portfolios. Besides his management role, he was also an analyst in the Consumer and Luxury Goods sectors and has been rated as one of top 5 analysts for the last 7 years in the South African consumer space. He has also been rated as one of the top 4 research analysts in the Global Institutional Investor rankings, where he had a significant global client base. Mohamed has serviced some of the largest global funds and has often jointly established investment strategies for US funds investing in South Africa. Prior to Merrill Lynch he worked for Citigroup Investment Research as retail and consumer analyst and was voted Citigroup Global Top Stock Picker in 2004 and was one of the Top 3 stock pickers for two consecutive years. He was also a founder member of the team that started the Citigroup Equities business in South Africa in 2000. Biography | Olwethu Notshe is a Portfolio Manager at Sentio and has been in the investment industry for 6 years. Olwethu's career at Sentio began as an Equity Analyst covering Small Caps and Resources companies. After four years at the Sentio his responsibilities were increased to include portfolio management duties over and above fundamental company analysis. Before joining Sentio Capital Management, he was an Implementation Analyst at Coronation Fund Managers. At Coronation he worked on the Absolute Return suite of products and the hedge funds. In this capacity his duties included derivatives, equity, fixed income and currency trading. Olwethu began his career at Jacques Malan Consultants and Actuaries in the reporting team. He then progressed onto the manager research team where he was involved in analysis of asset managers and consulting at Pension fund trustee meetings. |
