Investment Strategy

The Seed Stable Fund is a Multi Asset Low Equity Fund. As a multi-managed multi strategy Fund, Seed is responsible for tactical asset allocation and strategy selection, with the focus on blending uncorrelated strategies. Manager selection is skewed towards owner managed investment firms with a consistent, repeatable process. The Fund aims to generate CPI + 4% pa over rolling 3 year periods and avoid negative returns over any 1 year period. The Fund is Regulation 28 compliant and is therefore suitable for investments in retirement funds. The net equity weighting (including global equity) will never exceed 40% of the Fund’s market value.

Biography Ian is a qualified Chartered Accountant, CA (SA), and also completed a BCom (Hons – Financial and Portfolio Management) at the University of Cape Town. In the late 1990’s Ian joined Sharenet as a director and shareholder. He became actively involved in the financial markets and gained valuable investment advisory experience, which led to the founding of Exsequor Investments in 2002, as the forerunner to Seed Investments. Biography Mike started at Seed Investments in 2005, after graduating from the University of Cape Town with a BBusSc (Finance) degree, and was awarded his CFA Charter in 2009. In 2010 he was promoted to the position of Portfolio Manager and has been involved in the management of all of Seed’s unit trusts since their launch. Mike spends the majority of his time conducting investment research and meeting fund managers. Mike sits on the Investment Committee.

Biography After graduating from the University of Pretoria (South Africa) in 1996 with a B.Com in Actuarial Science (Hons), Vincent started his career at Sanlam, where he steadily progressed in his career until moving to the UK in 1999. After returning to South Africa in 2002, Vincent co-managed one of the first institutional fund of hedge funds in South Africa at Novare Investments. During this time he was also involved in the creation and implementation of investment strategies for some of South Africa’s largest pension funds. In 2007, Vincent co-founded Seed Investment Consultants (Pty).
