Investment Strategy

The investment objective of the Fund is to seek capital growth over the medium to long term. Investors should be aware that there is no guarantee that the Fund will achieve its investment objective. The Fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing principally in equity securities, such as shares, of companies domiciled or with their core business in Europe (including Eastern Europe) that demonstrate positive fundamental change at attractive relative valuations.

Biography George P. Maris is chief investment officer and global head of equities for Principal Asset Management. In this role, he has leadership responsibilities across the equities platform, including managing more than 120 investment professionals across the firm's global investment centers. Maris is also serving as portfolio manager on the firm's international equity strategies. Maris joined Principal in 2023 with 25 years of industry experience, most recently serving as head of equities - Americas at Janus Henderson and lead portfolio manager on the firm’s international and global alpha equity strategies. He held several investment leadership and portfolio management positions throughout his career and has a history of generating strong investment results, improving performance, developing teams and innovating capabilities. Maris additionally was at Columbia Management Group serving as a portfolio manager on its large-cap and mid-cap core domestic equity strategies. He previously served as a portfolio manager, equity analyst and derivatives strategist at Putnam Investments. Maris served as guest lecturer at several universities including the MIT Sloan School of Management, Wake Forest University and the University of Denver. In addition, he is a member of the Executive Advisory Board of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. Maris received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Swarthmore College. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois. Biography Paul is a portfolio manager at Principal Global Equities. He is a co-portfolio manager for the international core and international all country portfolios. Paul is also active in research with an emphasis on the international banking industry. He joined the firm in 1992 and has been a member of the international equity team since 1995. Paul was named a portfolio manager for international core in 2000. He received an MBA from Drake University and a bachelor's degree in finance from Iowa State University. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Iowa.

Prior to that she was a fund manager at the London firms of Capel Cure Myers, Rowe Price Fleming and Schroders. Biography Crispin joined the funds management business of BT Financial Group, now Pendal Group, in 1994, Crispin was initially responsible for European equities and served as Head of European Equities from April 1998, He was subsequently appointed to his current role as Head of Equities in January 2003 after developing a strong track record during the prior eight years. Crispin is responsible for managing a number of our flagship funds, as well as leading one of the largest equities teams in Australia.
