The NBI Moderate Portfolio’s investment objective is to ensure a high level of current income and long-term capital appreciation. To do this, it invests primarily in a diverse mix of mutual funds (that may include exchange-traded funds (“ETFs”)) that are fixed-income funds and equity funds. Up to 100% of the fund’s investments in equity securities and fixed-income securities can be in foreign securities. The portfolio manager may choose to invest up to 100% of the net assets of the fund in mutual funds managed by the manager or third parties, including ETFs. The fund may also invest in other mutual funds managed by the manager or third parties (ETFs and other types of mutual funds are collectively referred to as “Underlying Funds”). The criteria used for selecting Underlying Fund securities are the same as the criteria used for selecting other types of securities.
