The Sub-fund's investment objective is to achieve medium and long-term capital growth. The Sub-fund aims to achieve its investment objective by actively investing in a diversified portfolio of fixed and/or variable-income debt securities. The Sub-fund uses a top-down investment approach that focuses on macro trends in rates, spreads and liquidity of the various segments of the credit market, and combines long and/or short strategic and tactical positions, while seeking to maximise returns.

Biography | Giovanni Matteucci is Azimut’s Co-Head of Global Fixed Income and Azimut Switzerland’s Head of Asset Management. In his current role Giovanni is responsible for roughly $2.5bio in assets, allocated predominantly to UCITS Fixed Income strategies invested across the spectrum of liquid public debt. Giovanni runs a team of seven resources, comprising of 2 Portfolio Managers and 5 analysts/support staff, and is a member of the Azimut Global Fixed Income Committee. Prior to assuming his current position in 2023, Giovanni held the role of lead Portfolio Manager for the fund AZ – Global Macro Bond. The fund is a $750mio AUM discretionary fund which combines a credit portfolio with a macro-overlay operating on the broad spectrum of fixed income, and predominantly FX and Rates. After his promotion to Co-Head of Global Fixed Income, Giovanni kept the role of lead Portfolio Manager for the fund Global Macro Bond and took the responsibility of lead PM for the fund AZ High Yield. Before joining AZ Swiss & Partners in 2020, Giovanni was Head of FX UK Institutional Sales at Nomura. In his role, Giovanni was responsible for the distribution of FX (G10 and EM) to UK Real Money investors and to Hedge Funds based in Europe. Prior to assuming this role in April 2019, Giovanni was Head of FX UK Hedge Fund Sales, since April 2018. Prior to joining Nomura in 2010, Giovanni worked at Barclays Capital, in FX Sales, as well as Goldman Sachs, as an equity research salesperson. Giovanni has been in the financial industry since 2006. Mr. Matteucci earned his MSc degree in Management Engineering from La Sapienza University. He is a native of Rome, Italy. |
