Investment Strategy

To achieve capital growth over any five year period, after all costs and charges have been taken. To invest directly (and potentially indirectly) at least 80% of its Scheme Property by value worldwide (including emerging markets) in equities. Biography Stephen is the lead manager of the WS Blue Whale Growth Fund and the Blue Whale Growth Fund (ICAV). Having started his working life in the Hargreaves Lansdown investment team, Stephen left the company in 2007 to pursue his interest in asset management. Having worked at New Star (now Janus Henderson), Artemis, and under Martin Taylor at Nevsky Capital, Stephen has gained broad and varied experience within the investment industry. Previous funds he has directly managed or co-managed are – Citywire’s AA-rated Artemis UK Growth Fund (now Artemis UK Select Fund), Artemis Pan-European Hedge Fund (nominated for EuroHedge Awards 2010) and New Star UK Gemini Hedge Fund (nominated for EuroHedge Awards 2007). Stephen set up his own fund management business in 2017 with a £25m backing from Peter Hargreaves, the co-founder of Hargreaves Lansdown. The firm's flagship WS Blue Whale Growth Fund has grown to manage over £1bn in assets and was voted Best Fund of 2020 at the Shares Magazine Awards.

Biography Daniel Allcock is the co-manager of the WS Blue Whale Growth Fund since October 2019. He joined Blue Whale Capital as an investment analyst in 2017. After graduating from the University of Warwick with a Mathematics degree, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC before joining Nevsky Capital as an equity analyst.

Biography Rob is the co-manager of the WS Blue Whale Growth Fund. Rob was a global equity analyst working under Martin Taylor at Nevsky Capital from 2014-2016 where he focused on the major developed markets. He started his career at Deloitte where he qualified as a chartered accountant before moving into investment banking at Fenchurch Advisory Partners. He is also a CFA charterholder. In his younger days Rob was a professional footballer at Crewe Alexandra and he still enjoys playing and watching many different sports.
