The Absa Bond Fund is a specialist portfolio in the fixed income funds category and will be a bond portfolio that will at all times predominantly invest its assets in South African bonds, corporate Bonds, gilts, fixed deposits and other interest bearing instruments, with either short, intermediate or long terms to maturity, being non-equity securities or securities purchased through exchanges in South Africa or as may be permitted in terms of the Act or any of its superseding legislation. The Absa Bond Fund may also be invested in the derivatives of these assets as determined by legislation from time to time. The primary objective of the portfolio is to seek above average income with some capital growth at below average to average risk for investors.

Biography | Sidney has more than 23 years experience in the commercial and financial services industry. After seven years as an IT specialist at Southern Life, he moved into the Asset Management industry functioning mainly as a quantitative analyst across both equity and fixed interest markets. He worked as a fixed interest specialist and portfolio manager at Nedcor Investment Bank and Abvest Associates before joining Trident Capital. Here his duties included specialist fixed interest portfolio management and the development and management of Real Return and Targeted Return products. Sidney joined Lion of Africa in 2010 as a senior portfolio manager where he was responsible for setting up the functionality of the asset manager within the group. Sidney was appointed Head of Asset Management at Warwick in April 2014, assuming responsibility for the management of all related products. Sidney holds a B.Sc degree from The University of Cape Town, Diplomas in IS Project Management, Financial Management, and has completed modules in the Capital Markets (Securities Institute-London).
