Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Services and Investment Trust sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) added 15.56% or 175.00 points to end at 1300.00 and Brown & Company PLC (CM:BRWN) was up 12.92% or 12.00 points to 104.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which fell 10.72% or 10.40 points to trade at 86.60 at the close. Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) declined 5.98% or 2.10 points to end at 33.00 and Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) was down 5.33% or 0.80 points to 14.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 92 to 91 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200. Shares in Brown & Company PLC (CM:BRWN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 12.92% or 12.00 to 104.90.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.49% or 0.24 to $49.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.54% or 0.28 to hit $51.74 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.79% or 9.96 to trade at $1266.36 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.73% to 196.665, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 152.890.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 97.04.
