Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 2.45% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 12.50% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.630 at the close. Meanwhile, Select Textile (AT:EPIr) added 9.27% or 0.014 points to end at 0.165 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 8.59% or 0.0640 points to 0.8090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which fell 5.50% or 0.002 points to trade at 0.028 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 3.75% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.1540 and Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) was down 2.28% or 0.120 points to 5.140.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 82 to 35 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) fell to all time lows; falling 5.50% or 0.002 to 0.028.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.54% or 6.80 to $1255.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $56.64 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.47 to trade at $62.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1774, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8771.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 93.71.
