Where the weather data isn’t quite as intimidating is for the 9-15 day forecast period as weather systems impact much of the interior US, including cooling Texas, the South, and Southeast into the 80s to 90s, which drops national CDDs and demand below normal. Also of consideration, wind and solar energy generation will be quite strong the next few days but then winds ease later in the week.

Texas will be hot Mon-Tue due to highs of 90s to locally 100s. Demand would be more impressive if not for much of the northern 2/3 of the US experiencing very nice highs of 60s-80s besides cooler 50s over the N. Rockies and upper 80s for the Ohio Valley. National demand will ease slightly Wed-Fri as a weather system cools Texas into the upper 70s and 80s besides locally hotter 90s over southern and western Texas. Although, Texas then heats back into the upper 80s and 90s this weekend into the following week. At the same time, the northern 2/3 of the US will remain quite comfortable for days 5-9 w/60s-80s. Overall, the next 8-days are still hot enough to require enough demand to decrease surpluses further.
