Investing.com - Asian shares gained on Wednesday with investors noting regional data, including a slight gain in Chinese house prices.
The Nikkei 225 rose 0.9%, while the S&P/AX 200 gained 0.17% and the Shanghai Composite edged up 0.08%.
In Australia, the Westpac leading index rose 0.12 point to 97.74, while the third quarter wage-price index gained 0.6% quarter-on-quarter, matching expectations.
China reported house prices rose 0.1% year-on-year in October, compared to a drop of 0.9% in the previous month.
U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.03%, while the S&P 500 index fell 0.13%, and the NASDAQ Composite index climbed 0.03%.
