Investing.com – Russia stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Telecom and Oil and Gas sectors led shares higher while losses in the Mining, Power and Oil and Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI rose 1.15%, while the MICEX index lost 1.36%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which rose 5.50% or 14.85 points to trade at 285.00 at the close. Meanwhile, AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) added 5.40% or 0.720 points to end at 14.050 and MTS (MCX:MTSS) was up 4.34% or 9.45 points to 227.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which fell 11.73% or 5.26 points to trade at 39.59 at the close. Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) declined 5.44% or 9.50 points to end at 165.20 and Gazprom (MCX:GAZP) was down 3.92% or 5.64 points to 138.18.
The top performers on the MICEX were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) which rose 5.50% to 285.00, AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) which was up 5.40% to settle at 14.050 and MTS (MCX:MTSS) which gained 4.34% to close at 227.30.
The worst performers were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) which was down 11.73% to 39.59 in late trade, Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) which lost 5.44% to settle at 165.20 and Gazprom (MCX:GAZP) which was down 3.92% to 138.18 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 91 to 55 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.41% or 5.20 to $1274.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 1.29% or 0.62 to hit $48.86 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 1.95% or 1.03 to trade at $54.02 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 2.25% to 68.475, while EUR/RUB fell 0.62% to 77.669.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 94.82.
