Investing.com – Russia stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecom, Oil and Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 1.35% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MICEX index added 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were Bashneft ANK ap (pref) (MCX:BANE_p), which rose 9.56% or 108.0 points to trade at 1238.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) added 6.90% or 9160.0 points to end at 141900.0 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) was up 6.76% or 1.970 points to 31.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LSR (MCX:LSRG), which fell 4.66% or 23.0 points to trade at 471.0 at the close. NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) declined 4.25% or 20.40 points to end at 460.00 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) was down 3.74% or 35.00 points to 900.00.
The top performers on the MICEX were Bashneft ANK ap (pref) (MCX:BANE_p) which rose 9.56% to 1238.0, Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) which was up 6.90% to settle at 141900.0 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) which gained 6.76% to close at 31.100.
The worst performers were LSR (MCX:LSRG) which was down 4.66% to 471.0 in late trade, NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) which lost 4.25% to settle at 460.00 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) which was down 3.74% to 900.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 93 to 48 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was up 1.66% or 20.80 to $1276.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 1.62% or 0.72 to hit $45.25 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.35 to trade at $49.48 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 2.26% to 70.407, while EUR/RUB rose 2.08% to 79.520.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.00.
