Investing.com – Russia stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil and Gas and Telecom sectors led shares higher while losses in the Power, Manufacturing and Telecom sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 2.62%, while the MICEX index climbed 3.15%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 9.91% or 12890.0 points to trade at 142990.0 at the close. Meanwhile, MVideo (MCX:MVID) added 7.75% or 10.50 points to end at 146.00 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was up 7.49% or 38.00 points to 545.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which fell 3.89% or 9.25 points to trade at 228.75 at the close. E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR) declined 1.71% or 0.0380 points to end at 2.1810 and VTB (MCX:VTBR) was down 1.24% or 0.0008 points to 0.0667.
The top performers on the MICEX were Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) which rose 9.91% to 142990.0, MVideo (MCX:MVID) which was up 7.75% to settle at 146.00 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) which gained 7.49% to close at 545.50.
The worst performers were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) which was down 3.89% to 228.75 in late trade, E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR) which lost 1.71% to settle at 2.1810 and VTB (MCX:VTBR) which was down 1.24% to 0.0667 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 89 to 39 and 8 ended unchanged.

Gold for February delivery was up 1.26% or 15.20 to $1219.20 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 4.08% or 2.04 to hit $48.00 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 3.38% or 1.79 to trade at $51.31 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 2.51% to 62.382, while EUR/RUB rose 3.57% to 74.678.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 91.56.
