Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Oil and Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 2.39%, while the MICEX index fell 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 12.50% or 6.89 points to trade at 61.99 at the close. Meanwhile, NMTP (MCX:NMTP) added 2.18% or 0.0350 points to end at 1.6400 and Gruppa Cherkizovo ao (MCX:GCHE) was up 2.13% or 16.0 points to 766.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which fell 5.25% or 0.960 points to trade at 17.320 at the close. GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) declined 4.50% or 0.0283 points to end at 0.6002 and Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) was down 4.27% or 7.60 points to 170.20.
The top performers on the MICEX were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) which rose 12.50% to 61.99, NMTP (MCX:NMTP) which was up 2.18% to settle at 1.6400 and Gruppa Cherkizovo ao (MCX:GCHE) which gained 2.13% to close at 766.0.
The worst performers were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) which was down 5.25% to 17.320 in late trade, GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) which lost 4.50% to settle at 0.6002 and Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) which was down 4.27% to 170.20 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 101 to 47 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.54% or 6.50 to $1194.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in April rose 0.93% or 0.46 to hit $49.91 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract rose 1.21% or 0.71 to trade at $59.62 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 1.50% to 62.766, while EUR/RUB fell 1.47% to 71.253.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 94.69.
