Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Transport and Basic Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.92% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which rose 7.69% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) added 6.05% or 1.46 points to end at 25.58 and Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) was up 5.23% or 0.320 points to 6.440 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA), which fell 0.91% or 0.06 points to trade at 6.53 at the close. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) declined 0.66% or 0.40 points to end at 60.10 and Kordsa Global Endustriyel Iplik ve Kord Bezi Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KORDS) was down 0.59% or 0.04 points to 6.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 296 to 73 and 40 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.38% or 4.80 to $1258.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.71% or 0.53 to hit $73.61 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.14 to trade at $78.38 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.53% to 4.5958, while EUR/TRY fell 1.21% to 5.3822.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.09.
