Investing.com – Russian Federation stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecom, Oil and Gas and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 0.55%, while the MICEX index declined 2.54%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR), which rose 3.83% or 0.0840 points to trade at 2.2800 at the close. Meanwhile, Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) added 3.34% or 16.50 points to end at 510.00 and Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) was up 2.86% or 3500.0 points to 126000.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON), which fell 7.55% or 67.00 points to trade at 820.00 at the close. SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) declined 7.45% or 1.99 points to end at 24.71 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was down 7.28% or 17.95 points to 228.50.
The top performers on the MICEX were E.ON Russia (MCX:EONR) which rose 3.83% to 2.2800, Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) which was up 3.34% to settle at 510.00 and Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) which gained 2.86% to close at 126000.0.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 85 to 65 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.84% or 21.80 to $1203.70 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.24% or 0.13 to hit $53.48 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.47 to trade at $57.41 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 3.53% to 56.000, while EUR/RUB fell 5.23% to 68.092.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.41% at 90.17.
