Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares lower.

The worst performers of the session were MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC (MCX:GMKN), which fell 5.56% or 6.10 points to trade at 104.30 at the close. OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) declined 5.41% or 1.92 points to end at 33.60 and Gazprom PJSC (MCX:GAZP) was down 5.08% or 6.17 points to 115.31.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 189 to 54 and 9 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.24% or 6.29 to $2,674.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.79% or 1.25 to hit $68.69 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.67% or 1.23 to trade at $72.39 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 105.00, while EUR/RUB rose 0.01% to 110.37.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 106.34.
