Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which rose 5.38% or 37.8 points to trade at 740.0 at the close. Meanwhile, MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 1.69% or 9.60 points to end at 578.80 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was up 1.30% or 34.0 points to 2657.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER), which fell 4.51% or 8.95 points to trade at 189.35 at the close. Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) declined 3.28% or 5.47 points to end at 161.33 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was down 3.11% or 0.0249 points to 0.7770.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 152 to 54 and 24 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.91% to 28.290.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 1.00 to $1201.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.15% or 1.64 to hit $74.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.45% or 1.25 to trade at $85.04 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.67% to 66.9671, while EUR/RUB rose 1.79% to 77.0237.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 95.46.
