Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Rostelekom PAO (MCX:RTKM), which rose 1.94% or 1.64 points to trade at 85.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) added 1.54% or 21.40 points to end at 1,410.40 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was up 1.49% or 88.00 points to 5,996.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which fell 3.39% or 1.98 points to trade at 56.47 at the close. Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:CBOM) declined 3.07% or 0.22 points to end at 7.01 and Globaltrans Investment Gdr (MCX:GLTRDR) was down 2.45% or 13.70 points to 546.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 197 to 52 and 3 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 4.48% to 24.98.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.31% or 31.30 to $2,366.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.13% or 0.94 to hit $82.22 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $85.68 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.02% to 86.61, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 93.77.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 104.68.
