Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN), which rose 3.22% or 13.0 points to trade at 417.0 at the close. Meanwhile, NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) added 2.70% or 15.8 points to end at 601.8 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) was up 1.41% or 7.0 points to 503.4 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which fell 6.33% or 10.80 points to trade at 159.70 at the close. X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) declined 2.57% or 57.5 points to end at 2177.5 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was down 2.20% or 56.0 points to 2484.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 126 to 93 and 22 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.840.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.03% or 0.45 to $1412.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.25% or 0.15 to hit $59.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.09 to trade at $65.58 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.09% to 63.1355, while EUR/RUB rose 0.00% to 71.6712.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 95.803.
