Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 2.55% or 4.14 points to trade at 166.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 1.59% or 36.60 points to end at 2340.20 and Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) was up 1.37% or 76.0 points to 5622.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON), which fell 2.76% or 18.00 points to trade at 635.00 at the close. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 2.27% or 0.0895 points to end at 3.8530 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was down 2.21% or 0.0219 points to 0.9700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 143 to 83 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) rose to all time highs; rising 1.37% or 76.0 to 5622.5.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.52% to 23.090.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.19% or 2.40 to $1285.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $56.57 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $65.65 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.07% to 65.7866, while EUR/RUB fell 0.30% to 74.3303.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 96.850.
