Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 2.89% or 0.279 points to trade at 9.919 at the close. Meanwhile, Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 2.08% or 45.00 points to end at 2208.00 and Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) was up 1.66% or 2.59 points to 158.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which fell 3.82% or 20.6 points to trade at 518.8 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 3.32% or 0.0339 points to end at 0.9870 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was down 2.37% or 18.80 points to 776.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 122 to 98 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) fell to all time lows; falling 3.82% or 20.6 to 518.8.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.60% to 23.260.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.35% or 4.65 to $1316.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.35% or 0.20 to hit $57.14 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.20 to trade at $66.38 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.12% to 65.8673, while EUR/RUB rose 0.28% to 74.9675.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 96.025.
