Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM), which rose 3.03% or 2.03 points to trade at 69.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY) added 2.50% or 2.50 points to end at 102.40 and MTS (MCX:MTSS) was up 2.18% or 6.25 points to 292.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which fell 5.28% or 0.0590 points to trade at 1.0590 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 2.64% or 5.15 points to end at 190.00 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was down 2.38% or 21.70 points to 891.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 150 to 75 and 18 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.55% to 20.060.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.24 to $1311.04 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.93% or 0.47 to hit $49.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.47 to trade at $55.01 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.40% to 58.3533, while EUR/RUB rose 0.50% to 69.8360.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 91.79.
