Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Oil and Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 2.34%, while the MICEX index declined 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO), which rose 6.12% or 600.0 points to trade at 10400.0 at the close. Meanwhile, NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) added 3.54% or 3.04 points to end at 89.16 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 3.43% or 350.0 points to 10550.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR), which fell 5.21% or 0.0279 points to trade at 0.5080 at the close. Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) declined 3.42% or 6.20 points to end at 175.00 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was down 3.08% or 8.90 points to 280.10.
The top performers on the MICEX were Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) which rose 6.12% to 10400.0, NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) which was up 3.54% to settle at 89.16 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) which gained 3.43% to close at 10550.0.
The worst performers were GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) which was down 5.21% to 0.5080 in late trade, Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) which lost 3.42% to settle at 175.00 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) which was down 3.08% to 280.10 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 79 to 68 and 3 ended unchanged.

Gold for April delivery was down 2.13% or 27.40 to $1259.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March fell 1.37% or 0.61 to hit $43.84 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.10 to trade at $48.56 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.81% to 69.032, while EUR/RUB rose 2.18% to 78.207.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 95.08.
