Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Power, Oil and Gas and Telecom sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 0.42%, while the MICEX index fell 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE), which rose 9.85% or 130.0 points to trade at 1450.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Bashneft ANK ap (pref) (MCX:BANE_p) added 3.96% or 39.0 points to end at 1025.0 and Akron (MCX:AKRN) was up 2.91% or 60.0 points to 2125.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lukoil (MCX:LKOH), which fell 3.51% or 96.0 points to trade at 2640.0 at the close. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 3.41% or 4.50 points to end at 127.50 and Gruppa Cherkizovo ao (MCX:GCHE) was down 2.99% or 20.0 points to 648.0.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 75 to 65 and 7 ended unchanged.

Gold for February delivery was down 0.11% or 1.40 to $1275.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March fell 2.08% or 1.02 to hit $48.11 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract fell 2.04% or 1.02 to trade at $49.15 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.61% to 64.880, while EUR/RUB rose 0.21% to 75.507.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 92.75.
